PH might consider buying weapons from Israel, Jordan

Malacañang said the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) “might” consider purchasing weapons from Israel and Jordan following President Rodrigo Duterte’s official visit.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque confirmed this to Palace reporters in a text message on Sunday. He noted, however, that there is “no commitment yet” on any weapons deal with the two nations.

Roque made the remark after President Duterte returned to the country with news of enhanced economic and defense cooperation with the two Middle Eastern countries.

Duterte, during his trip to Israel, told Israeli President Reuven Rivlin that he has ordered the Philippine military to buy weapons only from Israel.
